Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,396 m.)

This day is the beginning of an intriguing journey in Nepal. When you step out of the airport you will meet our representative who will warmly welcome you. After a short welcome program you will be transferred to your designated hotel.

 

The drive on the roads of Kathmandu offers glimpses of the culture of this vibrant city with ancient temples and local markets.  After you arrive at your hotel we will help you with check in. You can then settle into your room.

 

After resting for a while you may explore your surrounding areas and soak in the local culture. The streets of Kathmandu Valley are vibrant and beautiful. You can see small temples and big temples all around the street. You can visit handicraft shops near your hotel or try delicious local foods. If you want to purchase or rent trekking essentials you may visit local shops.

 

In the evening we will have a pre trip meeting where we will provide information about daily itineraries, safety tips and other required information. If you have any queries about trek you may ask us and we will address your every concern. You can then enjoy your dinner and get a restful sleep to recharge for next day’s adventure.

Day 2

Take morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,830 m.) and trek to Phakding (2,640 m., 4-hour trek).

On Day 2 of your Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek you will take exhilarating flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Then, you will trek to Phakding. On this day you will wake up early and get ready for the flight to Lukla. This flight will be the most exciting and joyful aviation experience for you. This 40 to 45 minute flight to Lukla offers breathtaking views of the ethereal Himalayan vistas. The flight is thrilling, so the trekkers describe it as one of the most exciting highlights of the Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek.

 

You will head to Tribhuvan International Airport’s domestic departure point for your scheduled flight which lasts around 40 minutes. The airplane flies over beautiful landscapes and offers beautiful views of cities, hills, terraced farms and village settlements. Witnessing surreal scenery from an aircraft window is truly thrilling and joyful. Then, you will land at the airport and observe the surreal surroundings of the Himalayan Region.

 

Soon afterward, you will begin trekking to Phakding Village.  Your Himalayan journey officially begins from this point. You will follow the trail that passes through rhododendron and pine forests. In addition, you can get glimpses of the local culture by trekking through Cheplung and Ghat villages. After passing through several small settlements you will finally reach stunning Phakding Village.

 

Phakding is located along the Dudhkoshi river and inhabited by the Sherpa community. You will spot many guesthouses and teahouses in Phakding. You will reside at a traditional teahouse in Phakding for the night.

Day 3

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m., 6-hour trek)

On the 3rd day of Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek, you will trek to Namche Bazaar. You will set off on the trek after a satisfying breakfast at your teahouse at 8 A.M.  You will cross the Dudhkosi Khola (River) on a suspension bridge witnessing stunning views of the valley. Crossing the bridges is one of the most exhilarating parts for the hikers as they can see the beautiful views of the rivers and hills.

 

In addition, the sights of beautiful waterfalls along the way are mesmerizing. From the beginning of the trek, you will be rewarded with enchanting scenery while you pass the gradual uphill trail. You will also witness prayer rocks, a prayer wheel, and chortens along the trail.  Soon afterward, you will make your way into the Sagarmatha National Park and get your permits registered. Then, you will carry on your journey towards Namche Bazaar.

 

As you progress further, you will cross the big suspension bridges. Some section of the trail requires you to pass through the steep hills which you must navigate carefully. You will pass through Jorsale Village and go through the zigzag paths.

You can see beautiful views of Taboche while walking towards Namche Bazaar. Continuing further, you will ascend through the steep uphill trail and finally arrive at Namche Bazaar. From this vibrant city, you will witness the stunning views of Mount Everest enhancing your overall sightseeing experience. It is a popular town of Sherpa Bazaar and is the first acclimatization point for many trekkers.

Day 4

Rest at Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar: 3,440 m

 

Day 4 will be your acclimatization day at the vibrant Namche Bazaar. A rest day is required for acclimatization during Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trekking. Acclimatization day helps you to adapt to increasing altitude. Likewise, it also reduces the risk of altitude sickness.

 

On this day you can engage in various activities. You can stroll around Namche Bazaar and hike to the Everest View Hotel to enjoy the panoramic views of snowy mountains. Mount Everest, Ama Dablam and other surrounding mountain views are ethereal from this beautiful hotel.

 

Similarly, you can hike to Khumjung Village, where you will get a chance to observe the rich Sherpa culture. Likewise, you can also opt for Sagarmatha National Park Museum which offers you great views of surrounding landscapes. By visiting this museum, you can gain a proper understanding of the unique biodiversity, culture and mountaineering history of the Khumbu Region. There are many options for exploration on your rest day in this picturesque town.

 

As Namche Bazaar is the main trading center and the most popular destination of the Everest Region, you may as well explore its beautiful local markets. There are many lodges, cafes, restaurants and bakeries in this vibrant town. After you explore this city, you can head back to your teahouse to enjoy a comforting meal and rest for the night.

Day 5

Trek from Namche Bazzar to Dole (4,090 m., 5-hour trek)

On Day 5 you will trek to Dole from Namche Bazaar. Your journey to Dole begins at 8 A.M after a delicious breakfast at your teahouse. You will start from Namche Bazaar and ascend above the village. Then, you will follow a flat trail offering beautiful views of the mountains like Nupste, Kantega, Ama Dablam and Everest.

 

Continuing further, you will arrive at Kyangjuma where you will enjoy the views of beautiful surrounding landscapes. Then, you will ascend through the steep trail and pass through the serene forest.  You will continue the journey through a stone staircase in steep terrains.

 

You will pass through Mong La and Phortse Tenga Villages where you will get chances to observe the local life. Likewise, you will continue walking along the Dudh Koshi Valley feeling the tranquility of the rhododendron forests. You can witness water streams and waterfalls which adds to the charm of the trek. Passing through the serene forests and bridges you will finally make it to Dole your destination, on the fifth day of your journey.

Dole is a small village popular for providing the majestic views of majestic mountain panoramas.  You can see few teahouses/ lodges in this picturesque village. Likewise, you will witness mesmerizing views of Kangtenga and Thamserku from Dole. You can admire the otherworldly beauty of the surroundings and head towards your accommodation

Day 6

Trek from Dole to Macchermo (4,470 m., 5-hour trek)

On Day 6 of your Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek, you will trek to Machhermo from beautiful Dole Village. On this day you will ascend the uphill for the most part of journey. You will walk along the valley, enjoying views of enchanting mountain panoramas. You will pass through the rhododendron forests and juniper bushes while feeling the crisp air and immersing in serenity of nature.

 

Continuing further you will make your way through places like Lhabarma Kharka and Luzu Kharka which will leave you in awe because of its beauty. Soon afterward, you will trek downhill to arrive at Machhermo.

Machhermo is a beautiful village situated at 4,470 m. The village is popular for its mesmerizing views of Mt. Thamserku and Cho Oyu. You can experience the authentic Sherpa culture and also get opportunities to observe the Buddhist practices in this village. You can walk around village and immerse in beauty of the scenic mountain panoramas. Getting a chance to witness beautiful views from the teahouse with the exceptional hospitality of the locals will make your journey more intriguing and immersive.

Day 7

Trek From Macchermo To Gokyo (4,790 m, 4 hour Trek)

Day 7 is exhilarating as you will be trekking to Gokyo, which is one of the key highlights of the Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek. On this day, you will climb a ridge and get alluring views of  Cho Oyu. You will pass through Phangkha and then continue trekking down to the riverbed. You will be treated to unparalleled sights of the Ngazumpa glacier moraine while trekking.

 

After you pass a moraine, you will cross an iron bridge and see the first lake which is Longpongo.  Continuing further, Further you will be mesmerised by the visuals of the  Taboche Tsho which is the second lake.

 

You will continue the journey and reach the third lake which is the pristine Gokyo Lake.  From this point you can witness the stunning view of Cho Oyu and Gyachung Kang. The landscapes surrounding the Gokyo Lakes are stunning. You can capture the magnificence of the surreal landscapes by taking snapshots. After you complete exploring the beautiful lakes you will make your way to Gokyo Village to rest for the night.

 

Gokyo is a small village in the Khumbu Region and is also one of the highest settlements in Nepal. You will see many guesthouses and teahouses in this village. The authentic Sherpa culture and turquoise glacial Gokyo Lakes are the special attraction of this beautiful village. You will reside at a teahouse in Gokyo Village overnight.

Day 8

Extrusion Day-Climb Gokyo Ri (5,357 m, 3-hour trek).

On this day you will hike to Gokyo Ri to witness the panoramic views of the iconic mountains of the Khumbu Region. You will take an upward trail and pass through a landscape that offers great views of the Gokyo Lake. As some sections of the trail are steep it is highly recommended to take care of every step while hiking up.

 

As you make it to the Gokyo Ri, you will be rewarded with stunning views of Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu and Lhotse and other beautiful snowy peaks. The view of the Ngozumpa glacier is beautiful from this point. You can enjoy the view, take marvelous snapshots of the surrounding peaks and take your time to observe the ethereal beauty.

 

Afterward, you will trek back to Gokyo Village. The return journey to Gokyo Village rewards you with the panoramic views of the surreal Himalayan vistas. After trekking back to your teahouse in Gokyo you can enjoy a warm meal and rest. The village is scenic and you can explore the surrounding areas in your remaining time. Wandering around the village while also getting to interact with the local people is one of the major highlights of this day.

Day 9

Trek from Gokyo to Lumde (4,380 m Via Ren Jo la pass ( 5,360 m) 7 Hour Trek.

This is one of the most thrilling parts of the trek. You will begin your trek early in the morning making your way through the remote terrains. To make it to the Renjo La Pass’s top you will need to pass through steep and rugged paths. Gradually making the way from the windy and zigzag trail you will finally arrive at Renjo La Pass (5,360 m).

The pass offers stunning views of mountains like Everest, Cholatse, Nuptse, Cho Oyu and many more. Then, you will follow a zigzag trail and go down to Lumde Village. You will trek to a remote valley glancing at the stunning landscape. You will keep trekking down to the Valley and then continue your journey following the path of the river.

Trekking for almost 7 hours from Gokyo, you will arrive in Lumde at an elevation of 4380 m. Lumde is a serene village that has few teahouses. The village is gifted with incredible natural beauty. This is also called Lungden Village and is popular for presenting you with views of mountains like Thyangmochen and Chhupu. You can gaze upon the beautiful landscapes and immerse in their marvelous beauty. For the night, we have arranged your stay in the best traditional teahouse. Take a proper rest and be prepared for another adventure for the following day.

Day 10

Trek From Lumde to Thame ( 3,820 m, 5 hour).

On Day 10 of Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trekking, you will trek to Thame. You will trek down the beautiful valley, witnessing small water streams. You will notice beautiful agricultural farms along the way. The trek is mostly downhill and you will trek through many tranquil villages.

 

The view of the water stream is particularly stunning on this day. You will follow a downhill path and reach Marlung Village. You will cross a bridge over the river and trek uphills and downhills to arrive at Taranga Village. Soon afterwards, you will cross a thick forest and come across many small Sherpa Village where you will get sightings of their daily lives.

 

Following a downward path, you will arrive in Thame. The beautiful views of Kwangde Ri and Teng Kangpoche mountains can be seen from this charming village. In addition, you may also visit the Thame Monastery.

 

The surrounding area of the monastery is beautiful and decorated with prayer flags. It takes around 30 minutes to reach the monastery above the village. Likewise, you can also spend your time walking around the village and observing the beautiful surroundings. For the night, you will reside at a teahouse and get the much required rest.

Day 11

Trek from Thame to Namche Bazzar (3,450 m., 5-hour trek).

On day 11 of your Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trekking adventure, your destination is Namche Bazaar. After having breakfast at 8 A.M you will leave Thame and begin your journey on foot heading towards Namche Bazaar. You will begin your trek along the glacial stream and descend gradually to the valley.

 

On this day, you will cross the river through the suspension bridge and make your way through birch and pine forests. In addition, you will pass through the rhododendron forests and feel the fresh air of the surroundings. You will make a gradual ascend to the Sherpa Villages. Then, you will again walk through the pine forests and finally arrive at the Namche Bazaar.

 

After arriving in Namche Bazaar, you can proceed towards your teahouse, rest your backpacks and get refreshed. Then, you may spend the remaining time as you prefer. As the surroundings of Namche Bazaar are beautiful and you can explore it for one more time.

You can visit cafes, restaurants, and bakeries and enjoy the vibrant vibes of this Himalayan town. Likewise, you can try different local foods by visiting the traditional restaurants. In addition, you may interact with the locals and learn interesting facts about the region. A beautiful teahouse at Namche Bazaar is where you will stay for the night.

Day 12

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,840 m., 6-hour trek).

You will trek to Lukla on this day. You will have your breakfast at 8 A.M. Then, you will begin your adventure. You will pass through beautiful valleys and traditional villages. You will be treated to the enchanting sights and sounds of the pristine waterfalls along the trail.  In addition, you will come across several village farms and prayer wheels while making your way to Lukla.

 

Trekking through stone staircases while enjoying beautiful scenery is the main highlight of this day. Then, you will arrive at the beautiful Phakding Village in about three hours.  After resting in Phakding village for some time you will continue your journey heading towards Lukla. While some parts of the trail are flat, there are also many stone stairs that you will traverse on this day. So, make sure to trek gradually.

 

In addition,  you will also hike up rocky trails.  Trekking through rocky terrain, you will make it to the picturesque Lukla.  Then, you can head over to your teahouse and enjoy a freshly prepared warm meal. In your spare time, you can wander the local markets to see the local crafts and souvenirs or just rest at your teahouse.

Day 13

Take flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

Lukla: 2,860 m

 

After completing the Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek you will fly from Lukla to Kathmandu. You will have your breakfast at your teahouse at Lukla and then head towards the airport. The beauty of the mesmerizing landscapes of Khumbu Region looks ethereal in the morning time.

 

The flight takes off from Lukla airport and you will be treated to the panoramic sights of hills, valleys and snowy peaks. The sights visible from the aircraft window will hold you attention throughout the flight. As the flight approaches Kathmandu Valley you will see beautiful city landmarks and buildings that look alluring from the aircraft.

 

In around 40 minutes of flying the airplane will land at the Kathmandu Airport. Then, you will be transferred to your hotel in a private vehicle. Our representative will help you with check in. You can then rest and refresh yourself.

 

If you wish to explore the city more you can walk around the city and observe vibrant atmosphere of the evening market. However, you can rest at your hotel enjoying the serene ambiance and warm meals.

Day 14

Free day

Day 14 is the free day in Kathmandu Valley. You can explore world heritage sites in Kathmandu. You can visit Pashupatinath temple or Swayambhunath Temple which holds great importance for  locals and devotees. Likewise, you may visit the Pashupatinath Temple in the morning. Then, you can visit the Syambhunath temple from where you can witness beautiful views of Kathmandu Valley.

 

Similarly, you may visit Boudhanath Stupa too on this day where you can walk around feeling the peaceful ambiance. In addition, there are many beautiful cafes and restaurants around stupa area where you can try delicious local foods.

 

In the evening you may visit Kathmandu Durbar Square which is popularly called as Basantapur Durbar Kshetra. At the square area, you can witness exquisite Newar architecture and pagoda-style temples. Likewise, you can visit the local markets or stalls if you want to purchase traditional handicrafts, paintings or souvenirs.

 

The area of Durbar Square is vibrant in the evening and you will have an amazing time observing the prayers, oil lamps and overall beauty of the Durbar Area. You can take your time to enjoy and get many opportunities to capture snapshots of the beautiful ancient buildings of the Durbar Square area

Day 15

Transfer to the airport and departure from Nepal to your destination

On Day 15 you will officially wrap up your journey.  If you have free time in the morning you can explore the artsy streets of Kathmandu Valley. Likewise, you can go shopping to buy traditional handmade goods or handicrafts if you are interested. Similarly, you can also try local Nepali dishes while wandering the beautiful streets nearby your hotel. You may also spend your leisure time just resting at your hotel.

 

Before checking out of the hotel, you must ensure that you have packed all personal items and all necessary documents including your passport and flight tickets.  We will arrange timely pickup in a private vehicle. You will be transferred directly to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. You can enjoy glimpses of Kathmandu until you make it to the airport.  We will bid you farewell and hope to welcome you soon for another adventure.
