Best Month for Annapurna Circuit Trek 15 Days

The best time to trek the spectacular Annapurna Circuit is the autumn season (September-November). You will get the best views of the mountains as the skies are clear and the winds are calmer. The snow-capped mountains look the best at this time.

The spring season (March-May) is favorable for trekking as well. The lush vegetation and blooming wildflowers, especially the rhododendron, makes for a great scenario. The temperatures are moderate, making it perfect for a trekking adventure.

You should avoid the monsoon season as the rainfalls create slippery trails and increase the risk of avalanches and landslides the monsoon clouds also obstruct the views of the mountains. In the winter, snowfall can cause frigid conditions and may delay your trekking adventure.

How Difficult Annapurna Circuit Trek -15 days

 

The Annapurna Circuit Trek is a moderately challenging trek, and anyone with a basic level of fitness can complete it. However, there are a few sections that demand extreme physical and mental endurance and strength.

At least some trekking experience in the high mountains is necessary before you take this trek one. The high-altitude is one of the most challenging aspects of the trek. High altitude often leads to fatigue and altitude sickness. Proper acclimatization and hydration is the key to trek in the region.

If you feel the symptoms of altitude sickness, you can talk to your guide for help. Besides the altitude sickness, the other difficult factor is the long trekking hours that can be quite taxing, especially if you are trekking for the first time in the region. Proper training at least two weeks prior to the trek is necessary.

15 Days Annapurna Circuit trekking Route

The 15-day Annapurna circuit trek is one of the most trekked paths on earth. After a drive from Kathmandu to Bulbule, we start a trekking journey. The trekking journey starts from Bulbule, passing through Bahundanda to reach Chamje.

We then make our way to Dharapani, passing through Tal. The following day we arrive at Bagarchap. We then officially enter the Manang district after arriving at Chame. We then enter the narrow valley trail to arrive at the dusty terrains of Pisang and Manang.

We acclimatize at this beautiful place and explore the stunning landscapes and culture of the Manang region. We pass through the stunning Thorong Phedi and arrive at Muktinath on a challenging trail. The holy site of Muktinath is where we acclimatize again.

We take a break from our trek as we take a drive to Tatopani from Muktinath as the trails merge with the motorways and the jeeps and buses travelling in the road makes for a dusty trail. We then relax at the hot water springs of the Tatopani to relieve all the stress and fatigue of the trek.

We trek back to Ghorepani to observe the stunning sunrise from Poonhill viewpoint and then hike back to Tikhedhunga and then to Nayapul. We end our journey with a drive to Pokhara and then to Kathmandu from where you can board a flight to your desired destination.

15 Days Annapurna Circuit itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, you will get picked up by our representative from the airport and transferred to the hotel. You can then relax at the hotel and stroll around the city in the evening.

Day 2

Drive to Dharapani by Jeep. Overnight Lodge (1960 m), 7-8 Hrs

We start our journey from a scenic drive to Dharapani by jeep from Kathmandu. We pass through Besi Sahar, overlooking the outstanding views of the green hills and verdant landscapes. We stay overnight at a lodge in Dharapani.

Day 3

Trek To Chame (2710 m), 5-6 Hrs

After breakfast, you can observe the spectacular Annapurna II mountain from a scenic point. We will start the trekking journey from Dharapani to Chame on a steep stone case trial. We continue or trek towards Timang, which is a village located on a hilltop.

 

The hilltop is a high vantage point as it presents a wide panoramic view of the majestic Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges. We pass through rhododendron forests and then proceed towards a steep valley to arrive at a suspension bridge.

 

We finally arrive at Koto from where we get a great view of Annapurna III. After 20 minutes of pleasant walk from Koto, we reach Chame which is the district headquarters of Manang. Chame is a large settlement in Manang district.

 

You can explore the Chame area and also take a dip in the hot spring near the Marsyangdi River. We will stay overnight at a lodge in Chame.

Day 4

Trek to Pisang (3230 m), 5 hrs

After breakfast, we leave Chame and start our trek towards Pisang, through an apple orchard till Bhratang. The trail turns steep and narrow as we pass through Oak and Maple forest.

 

The trail then arrives at the stunning Dhikur Pokhari from where we get the beautiful Pisang Peak and Annapurna IV. The highlight of the trail is the spectacular view of Pangdi Danda (1,500m), which is a black rock rising from the riverbed. We then head towards Lower Pisang.

 

After arriving at the lower Pisang from Dhikur Pokhari, we hike to Upper Pisang, where we acclimatization and explore the landscapes. The monks conduct a musical prayer in the evening in the local monastery. We stay overnight at a lodge in Lower Pisang.

Day 5

Trek to Manang Village (3,450 m), 5 hrs

After breakfast, we start a long but easy ascent that leads us to the drier part of the Manang district. Manang has two routes via Ghyaru or Humde, eventually meeting at the Mugje.

 

However, the route via Humde is relatively easy, and we continue up the valley through Humde. The trail is dusty and wide to Manang. Magnificent Mani walls will greet you, and spectacular views of Pisang Peak and Annapurna III will enthrall you.

 

Manang is a large Tibetan village surrounded by mountains, like Chulu peaks to the northeast and Gangapurna to the south. There are several stupas and monasteries, and the views of sunset and sunrise is breathtaking. We stay overnight at a lodge in Manang.

Day 6

Rest Day at Manang for local hikes and acclimatization

Acclimatization is a necessary procedure that every trekker must undergo during the trek. However, acclimatization doesn’t mean that you will be staying idle, you will be gaining some altitude and exploring the region even in acclimatization day.

 

There are plenty of places to explore around in Manang. One can visit the stunning Milarepa’s cave and receive blessings from the spiritual guru Lama. You can also go from half-day hiking to Khangsar from where we can get a magnificent view of Tilicho peak.

Furthermore, you can climb the Chhongar viewpoint and observe the Annapurna and Chulu peaks and explore the ancient monasteries around the area. We return to our lodge and stay overnight.

Day 7

Trek to Yak Kharka (4110 m), 4 hours

After acclimatizing, we head further to the. We leave the Marsyangdi Valley behind and trek towards Yak Kharka. We walk for 1.5 hours in the juniper forests.

We arrive at Tangki and Ghusang, after which the trail becomes relatively easy until we reach Yak Kharka. There we enjoy the groups of yaks and sheep grazing in the lush green meadows.

 

The awe-inspiring views of Annapurna III, Gangapurna, and Tilicho peak will mesmerize you. We will spend the night at a lodge in Yak Kharka.

Trek to Thorong High Camp (4,600 m), 4 hrs

After breakfast, we continue on a wide and steep trail leading to Ledar. Before reaching Ledar, we walk past the path that leads to Chulu Peak. We continue the ascend and cross the bridge across the Kone River

 

The trail then leads us to a path where we walk past scree and ascend the Thorung Phedi. You can observe the magnificent panoramic view of Annapurna peaks, Yakwakang and Chulu West from the high camp. You will stay overnight at a lodge.

Day 9

Cross Thorung-La (5,416 m) and to Muktinath (3,800 m), 7 hrs

This trekking day is long and very challenging especially for amateur trekkers. We start our trek early in the morning and continue walking upon a narrow, steep trail for about four hours before reaching the Thorung La Pass.

 

We can observe number of buddhist prayer flags on top of the Thorung La Pass, and the majestic mountains above 6000 m. the pleasant view of Kali Gandaki Valley to the west and Yakwakang to the north will enthrall you.

 

The trail is a long and gentle from the pass to Muktinath and turns steep in between before turning into an easy trail once more. You can get spectacular views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountain range all along the trail. We stay overnight at a local lodge in Muktinath.

Day 10

Drive to Tatopani (1,190m), 6 hrs

After further exploring the holy site and area around Muktinath, we take a scenic jeep drive to Tatopani. We drive to Tatopani because the dusty trail merge with the motor roads and the incoming jeeps and buses spirals a lot of dust in the air making it quite a nuisance for trekkers.

 

Tatopani is very famous for its natural hot springs where we can dive into relieve the stress and fatigue from the trek. We stay overnight at a lodge in Tatopani.

Day 11

Trek to Ghorepani (2,750 m), 6 hrs

We resume our trek from Tatopani to Ghorepani after breakfast. The spectacular views of the magnificent Himalayan ranges follow us all along the trail. The culture, traditions, and lifestyle of the people are quite different from the ones living in the mountains.

 

You will walk across Gharkhola, Ghara, Shikha, Phalante, and Chitre along the trail. The culture and traditions of the different communities, especially the Magars and Gurungs, are worth exploring. You will stay overnight at a lodge in Ghorepani.

Day 12

Climb Poon Hill For sunrise view then trek to Hile (1,500m), 5 hrs Drive back Pokhara By Jeep

Today is our last day trekking, We will woke up 4;30 am and  Climb to Poon Hll for Another Annapurna r Sunrise view, come back to Lodge and take hot  breakfast,  after breakfast, we   will trek from Ghorepani to Tikhedhunga –   on a scenic trail.  from Hile we will  go pokhara by Jeep overnight hotel.

Day 13

Drive back to Kathmandu by Tourist Bus -6 Hour

We take an early morning drive to Kathmandu from Pokhara. The 6-7 hour drive moves along scenic landscapes and winding roads, overlooking the beautiful mountain and rocky vista.

 

We have a free afternoon on our hand. You can stroll around the major landmarks of the city including the UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites. If you like to take it easy you can relax and enjoy the vibrant nightlife of Thamel
