Your EBC Trek starts after a 35-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,827 meters). Following the trails alongside the Dudh Koshi River and across the Sagarmatha National Park, you will make your way to Namche Bazaar (3,440 meters). Then, moving on the gradually ascending trails, you will make your way to other high-elevated highlight points of the region, like Tengboche (3,800 meters), Dingboche (4,410 meters) and Lobuche (4,920 meters).
During your trek, you will also get acclimatization days at Namche and Dingboche in order to adapt to the new altitudes before pushing all the way to the base camp. During the last part of your ascending journey, you will trek through Gorakshep (5,180 meters) to reach Everest Base Camp (5,364 meters).
After the morning hike the next day to Kalapatthar (5,545 meters) to enjoy the panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Lobuche, Taboche, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and other adjacent peaks, you will begin your descending journey.
You will retrace your steps back on the same charming trails across the Dudh Koshi River and lush rhododendron flowers to make your descent gradually across Dingboche and Namche Bazaar to finally reach Lukla. Then, wrapping up your journey at Lukla, you will fly back to Kathmandu on either the direct Lukla to Kathmandu route or via the Lukla to Manthali Airport flight and drive back to Kathmandu. The flying route will depend on the congestion and traffic conditions at the airports.
Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary Route
Adventure Great Himalaya offers a total itinerary customization option for the Everest Base Camp Trek. You can determine the itinerary plan and route of your Himalayan excursion depending on the duration of your vacation and fitness level.
The shortest itinerary plan in this mainstream route is a 9-night and 10-day package. This is the shortest and quickest trekking prospect in this mainstream route, and you will move along the trekking trails without any acclimatization period.
If you are completely new to high-altitude trekking adventures, we don’t recommend this package. Instead, you can choose from our standard 11-night and 12-day trekking package that starts from Kathmandu. Your trekking adventure under this itinerary plan starts and ends at Lukla, and you will get acclimatization days at Namche and Dingboche, which will make the overall journey comfortable.

The entire Everest Base Camp Trek route covers the explorations of the magnificent landmarks of the region. All trekking routes in the Everest region, starting from Lukla to Everest Base Camp, offer breathtaking views of the tallest mountain in the world, Mt. Everes (8,848 meters), including stunning views of other adjacent peaks.
Still, during your EBC Trek, you shouldn’t miss the remarkable destinations enroute like Everest View Hotel, the highest hotel in the world at 3,962 meters (13,000 feet), Khumjung Village, Tyangboche Monastery, and Chukung Ri.
Of course, your Himalayan excursion will also include the exploration of two of the most popular highlights in the EBC route: Everest Base Camp (5,364 meters) and Kalapatthar (5,545 meters).

The cost of your Everest Base Camp Trek will depend mostly on the length, itinerary plans, and the quality of amenities that come with the package (the standard cost for an EBC Trek can range from US$ 800 to US$ 5,000). Types of Accommodation During EBC Trek
Everest Base Camp Trek is a mainstream trekking route in the Nepali Himalayas, so the accommodation facilities available here range from basic to luxurious scales. All the lodging facilities on this route are built with wooden and rock walls and green tin roofs. Your standard trekking package with basic accommodation facilities will get you a room at such teahouses during your trek.
In the basic accommodation facility, you will stay inside a private room with 2 separate beds, and the bathroom will also be on a shared basis. However, if you are choosing a luxurious mode of accommodation facility, you will get a single private room with an attached bathroom. The beds in the luxurious option will also include electric heated beds for a cozy and comfortable rest.
Hot Showers During Trek
During your EBC Trek, you cannot have hot showers at two points near the Everest Base Camp, Lobuche (4,940 meters) and Gorakshep (5,180 meters). These settlements are in the alpine altitudes and at remote locations, so the hot showers are not available here.
However, during your stay at other stop points in this trek, you will be able to enjoy hot showers at the cost of US$ 3 to US$ 5 (depending on the altitude). If you choose the luxurious accommodation package, the hot shower will be included in your package.
Internet Facilities?
The lodges along the trails of the EBC Trek don’t have internet facilities all the way to the top. Even the available WiFi facilities at the teahouses which cost around US$ 2 to US$ 5, depending on the altitude.
As the connection may not always be reliable, you can switch to alternative modes of internet services like the Khumbu Data Package, which costs US$ 20 for a whole month. Everest Link Card is another top internet service alternative, and you can buy packages as per your need to stay connected with the world.
Trekking Guide
Trekking guides are significant for your Everest Base Camp Trek adventure. Not only will they add value to the experience by providing the information, but they will also ensure your safety and comfort during the excursion.

All of our guides are also government-licensed, have received altitude training, and are very proficient in communication. So, during your EBC Trek, you can just relax and enjoy the exploration, leaving everything to your guide.
Trekking Porter
Trekking porters are the backbone of the trekking industry, and they assist you with your luggage so that you can relish a hassle-free Himalayan journey. As they are native to the region, they add value to your exploration and provide you with the opportunity to understand things from a local’s perspective.
The general weight limit for porters is 18 to 20 kg; one porter is assigned to two trekkers. If you are carrying excessive luggage, we can also arrange an additional porter. However, your package cost will not cover the expenses for the porter.
About Meals in EBC Trek
During the Everest Base Camp Trek, you will be able to enjoy a diverse range of food options at the teahouses/lodges. The most general menus at the teahouses include traditional Nepali food and international items like Dal Bhat, Fried Noodles, Fried Rice, Pizza, Yak Steak, etc.
If you are a vegetarian, the teahouses/lodge also offer pure vegetarian meal options as well. The general rule at the teahouses along the trails is that you have to eat food at the teahouses where you have booked for accommodation. If you eat meals at one lodge and sleep in another, you have to pay an extra fine of US$ 35 just for accommodation.
