Astam Eco Village Trek Itinerary

Day 1

A drive from Pokhara to reach Astam

Astam’s altitude: 1522 meteors
Walking hours : 3 hours
Driving hours: 25 to 35 minutes
Distance traveled: 20 km
Overnight stay at Astam’s Annapurna Eco Valley resort.

A drive from Pokhara to Milan Chowk will start the journey. Then you make a gradual ascent through a forest of chestnuts as you move toward Astam. The valleys of Hemja and Mardi will be visible from there. You continue walking until you reach the village of Jijharka. There are nearby shops where you can get refreshments.

you walk for an additional hour to reach Astam from here. Astam provides a full 360-degree view of Pokhara, Hemja, and Mardi Valley. The Annapurna Range will provide a magnificent backdrop. The sunrise and sunset viewing locations are among the most breathtaking in the Himalayas. It also gives you a glimpse into the Adhikari people, who are Brahmins and have lived in these mid-hills for centuries. This day’s hike will be serene and welcoming.

Day 2

A trek from Astam to Australian Camp

Australian Camp’s altitude: 1900 meters
Walking hours: 5 hours
Distance traveled: 11km
Overnight stay at Australian Camp.

The day will begin with a short stroll to Dhampus. You will encounter small villages and terraced farms along the way. Different ethnic groups live in Dhampus. They consist of Dalits, Brahmins, Chhetris, and Gurungs. Dhampus village provides breathtaking mountain views of the Annapurna Range.

You can unwind with a cup of masala tea, practice meditation, and draw inspiration from the Himalayas. Dhampus is renowned for its breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. You can reach Dhampus by walking for about three hours.

You will hike for an additional 1.5 hours after reaching Dhampus. The journey will be a gradual ascent through luxuriant mid-Himalayan forests. You will spend the night at Australian Camp after arriving there. Offer from Australian Camp will be enchanting views of the Annapurna’s, Machhapuchhare, and the Lamjung Himal.

Day 3

Trek from Australian Camp to Pokhara

Pokhara’s altitude: 827 meters
Walking hours: 4 to 5 hours
Driving hours: 1 hour
Distance traveled: 25 km

The final day will begin with a long descent toward Khare. The trip’s final part of hiking will be this. You’ll board a local bus in Khare and travel to Naudanda. From this point on, you will gradually ascend through the village of Kaskikot to reach Sarankot.

You’ll pass along panoramic views of the Himalayas, terraced farms, small towns, and other sights. The Peace Pagoda, Phewa lake, and the Pokhara valley are also visible. Among the most popular places to watch the sun set and rise is Sarankot. You will remain in Sarankot until dusk before making the 30-minute drive back to Pokhara.
