When my wife and I decided to fulfill a 25-year dream of trekking to Everest Base Camp, we chose to go with Adventure Great Himalaya. There are so many companies to choose from, but their website spoke to us and we liked that they were a local Nepali company. Communication with Babu was quick and easy. He always responded immediately (as much as a 12-hour time difference allowed). Booking was smooth and he took care of all the little details. When we arrived in Kathmandu, Babu, our guide Nanda, and a vehicle was waiting for us. We (7 of us in our group) were quickly delivered to our hotel. We had a meeting in Babu’s office that afternoon to finalize details and prepare for our city tour the next day. The city tour was a wonderful way to see the highlights of the Kathmandu Valley.

Babu and Nandu have many years of experience in the industry and know all the right people. Beginning the trek by flying into Lukla can be weather dependent, as it was for us. Babu and Nanda arranged a helicopter ride for us when it looked like flights were not going to happen. That way our trek could start on time. Once on the trail, Nanda’s experience and reputation became evident. He took care of any adjustments needed on our trek, monitored our health, and insured our accommodations without us even knowing. The sign of a great guide is when your trip seems perfect, but you find out later that slight changes happened along the way without you knowing. Nanda made sure we were settled in our rooms in the teahouse each day, acted as our waiter during meals, and made suggestions as to food and drink. Each night at dinner he would tell us the schedule for the next day. He was up early each morning to greet us and give us an overview of the day during breakfast. Nanda is a very knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humor. If his value as a guide wasn’t obvious yet, it became very clear on our last day. Weather prevented flights from arriving or leaving Lukla. It was determined that we’d be spending an extra night in Lukla. One hour after settling into our rooms, Nanda got word that a flight was coming in. He found some of us in the teahouse and rounded up others who were shopping in Lukla. He hustled us over to the airport, took care of our luggage and security, and soon we were hurtling down the airstrip. We still don’t know how he got us on that flight! At the same time Babu was arranging for our rooms in the hotel in Kathmandu.

Again, I will say that the sign of an experienced company and guide with key connections, are when adjustments have to made to a trip and those changes happen smoothly in the eyes of guests. I am highly recommending Babu and Adventure Great Himalaya as your trekking company. They are professional, understand your needs, and are true to their word.

I was extremely happy that we chose this company for our EBC trek. They guided our entire trip, from the moment that we landed in Kathmandu until we flew away. When we returned from Lukla and issues arose out of their control, they helped get us back to the city safely. Other travelers were stranded around us bc their guide companies didn’t care as much. I would highly recommend this company. I would also highly recommend Krishna as your guide. He kept us laughing the entire time. He was amazing!!!

We did the Everest base camp trek 14 days with Adventure Great Himalaya Trek, it was perfect trip with Amazing Guide. Babu and his company made planning our trip very easy. My questions were always answered quickly and with lots of detail. I really appreciated the communication and responsiveness. Our schedule changed a few times and Babu was very accommodating and always provided us with an up to date itinerary.

When we arrived, there was someone there to pick us up so we did not have to deal with the hassle at the Kathmandu airport. We were greeted with flowers and a beverage when we got to our hotel. Our room was ready right away so we were able to relax after a long flight.

The hotel was located in a great area. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The showers always had hot water and we had not issues with electricity or charging our devices.

After we were settled, we met our guide and he took us to acquire the things we needed for the trek. It was great to have help renting the gear we needed. Everything was clean and in good condition and it was a fair price.

The evening before our trek Babu took us to a local traditional restaurant and we had an amazing dinner.

The trek itself was perfect. I cannot possibly say enough good things about our guide Krishna. He was always encouraging when we were exhausted and always made us laugh. He was very knowledgeable about the local culture and geography. He made sure we were comfortable and had all the resources we needed to be successful. Near the end of the trip I got pretty sick and he arranged horses for us to take for the last part of the trek. I would not have made it without Krishna.

When we finished our trek, we had issues with transportation back to Kathmandu due to a government strike and road closures. Krishna and Babu worked to help us get a helicopter back to Kathmandu so our travel plans were not interrupted.

Everything was better than I could have ever expected. I felt like Babu and his company were always looking out for us to make sure we had a good time. Trekking with a local company was super important to us and I’m glad we went with them. The knowledge and resources they have are unmatched. We encountered others on our journey who were abandoned by their guides or didn’t feel like they were taken care of. Through the entire planning process and the trek I felt I could count on Babu and Krishna to be helpful, responsive and honest. If I go back to Nepal I would not hesitate to use this company again.

Having searched the internet to organize an advance booking for our Everest Base camp Trekking holiday we came across the Adventure Great Himalayan Trekking website. I liked the look of the information and the apparent flexibility that was allowed with regard to how you wanted to plan and carry out your holiday.

All email contact in advance was responded to quickly, informative and helpful. On arrival we were met by Babu the company’s owner who showed us a warm welcome which set the scene for the entire trip.

We did the 14 days Everest base camp Trek – we loved it and the support we received from the company was great – at no point did we have any worries or concerns and we really could not have asked for any more. Arjun our guide was a great chap and he insisted that we operate as one family for the duration of our time – this we did and it worked very well….

We also organized white water rafting, an internal flight and accommodation via the company, all of which went to plan.

We hope to return to Nepal later and  trek to gokyo and  Everest base camp trek and of course will be using Adventure Great Himalayan Trekking again. We have requested Arjun be our guide.

Approaching mid November, a group of five  set out to attempt to
climb Everest Base Camp ( EBC Trekking ) on a 14 day trek. We did our research and based on the
timeline, we would be able to see Kala Patthar on a full moon’s night. A gorgeous
view of the sunrise and a sense of achievement was what we were all looking for.

There are many trekking companies in Nepal, but we went with Adventure
Great Himalaya and got to know the boss (Babu) and one of his guides (Nabin)
a little better. From the moment Babu picked us up from the airport and held
accommodations as well as the process of getting to the mountain to begin our
trek, it was handled with the utmost level of professionalism and efficiency.
Needless to say, the guide that we had was exceptional when it comes to
customer service as well as knowledge of the various mountains that the
Himalayas offered. Our porters were friendly and helpful in many ways, and on
behalf of the group we would like to extend our gratitude towards Babu and
Nabin along with the porters that made our journey that much more comfortable.

Thank you Adventure Great Himalaya, we will definitely patronize again. Until
