Overview

Tibet Shangri La Tour most popular itineraries for  Tibet  tour. A sacred land of myths and mysteries inhabited by the ever smiling people. Extremely remote and isolated by the most formidable Himalayas ranges, – a fascinating world of timeless splendor, unique tradition and breathtaking scenery awaits all travelers to the roof of the world.
the tour consists of flying from Kathmandu to Lhasa. Flying over  The beautiful Himalayas that you witness will erase your fatigue and refresh your soul. You will be guided to your hotel after the arrival upon Lhasa and you can have all the time you want to get fresh and get acclimatized in the Tibetan altitude of Tibet. The second and third days of the tour includes the visit of Jokhang Temple, Barkhor market, Potala Palace, Sera and Drepung monasteries and along with strolling of the Lhasa streets, buying stuffs and enjoying the time. On the fourth day we drive from Lhasa to Tsedang covering 3,450m of road on the roof of the world. On the way we will stop to visit Samye monastery which is one of the six greatest monasteries in Tibet.  The fifth day is dedicated to Tsedang where we will visit Yumbulakang and Thandurk Monasteries. Finally on the 6th day you will fly back to Kathmandu or your onward destination.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Nepal

Transfer to Hotel. Short brief about the tour. Evening diner in Nepalese kitchen restaurant.
Day 2

Kathmandu (1,300m) – Lhasa (3,650m):

Fly to Lhasa crossing over the highest Himalayan ranges of the world. Transfer and check-in to your hotel. Rest for climate adaptation.
Day 3

In Lhasa:

Two full day sight-seeing tour to Lhasa including Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Bazar, Potala Palace, Drepung & Sera Monastries Overnight at Hotel.
Day 4

Lhasa – Xigatze(3,900m): 280 km

Scenic drive to Xigatze to the west of Lhasa through the northern road. The drive is scenic as the road drives along the valley made by Brahmaputra River. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5

Xigatze – Gyantse(3,950m): 90 km

Morning sight seeing to the Panchen Lama’s Tashilhumpu Monastry, Drive to GYANTSE and visit to the Kumbum Stupa & Phalkhor Monastry. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6

Gyantse – Tsedang(3,400m): 29 km

Full day picturesque drive crossing over Karola (5,010m), Kambala (4,794 m), and colorful Yambdrok Lake. Continue drive along the Tibetan lifeline river Bramha Putra on to Tsedang. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 7

Tsedang – Samye- Tsedang: 140 km

Early morning drive to put-in-point by the side of the Bramh Putra River and cross the river by a local made motor boat . Continue a short (30 min) drive by a truck to Samye Monastery explore Samye and drive back to Tsedang. Late afternoon, visit Yumbulkhang & also Thandruk Monastery. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 8

Tseding – Kathmandu:

Early morning drive 2 hrs to airport for departure flight to Kathmandu or to your onward destination.
Day 9

Departure from Nepal as per you time.
